senior marketing & digital engagement associate
Maddy Routon joins Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra with a background in creative direction, artistic design and media research. She studied art and photography for two years before shifting gears to pursue her Bachelor of Arts in Geography from UCLA, where her studies emphasized the power of the arts to connect people across space. Committed to fostering vibrant communities around art, Maddy spent much of her college career working in communications for student-run music nonprofits, including an appointment as the creative director of bike-powered music festival Ecochella. In this role, her work in web design, social media re-branding and community outreach directly contributed to the generation of the festival’s largest audience to date.
Her dedication to creating accessibility and diversity in exclusive institutions is evident in her work as the outreach assistant for UCLA’s Law Fellows Program, where she cultivated an engaged alumni donor network aimed at providing access to legal education for underprivileged students. Since graduating, Maddy has worked in the media research industry, studying consumer insights to develop thoughtful marketing strategy for major entertainment clients. She is incredibly excited to apply her expertise in developing successful and strategic communities around art to further LACO’s efforts to make great music personal.
In her spare time, Maddy enjoys attending local cultural events, sitting in the front row at comedy clubs, teaching and practicing yoga, tuning (and, on rare occasion, actually playing) her mandolin, dancing, performing spoken word poetry and writing both fiction and nonfiction.
