assistant director of events & projects
Monica is delighted to have joined the LACO team in November of 2015. A lover of performing arts of all disciplines with a background in theatre producing, she is excited to dive into the world of music.
Originally from Atlanta, Monica graduated with a BA in Sociology from Stanford University, where she was a member of Ram’s Head Theatrical Society and volunteered at an immigration resource center. After a brief stint in legal services in San Francisco, Monica moved to Los Angeles and reignited her love affair with the performing arts, first as a stage manager and later as a producer of live theatre and the Executive Director of comedy ensemble Lost Moon Radio. Monica completed the MBA/MFA Theatre Management program at Cal State Long Beach, undertaking thesis research on the experience of producers in fringe festivals and chairing the Theatre Arts Department’s first on-campus gala. Immediately before arriving at LACO, she served as the Gala Auction Coordinator for the Autry Museum’s annual gala.
When not learning all she can about music, Monica is one half of Capital W, a theatre company that creates immersive performances, most recently Hamlet-Mobile, an interpretation of Hamlet staged in and around a converted cargo van. She is an avid participant in the Hollywood Fringe Festival community and enjoys crafting and practicing aerial silks.
