Julie Gigante

Since her Carnegie Hall debut in 1981, Julie Gigante has been in demand as a chamber musician, soloist and recording artist. Her solo appearances include performances with the Opus Chamber, New York String, Music Academy Festival and Los Angeles Chamber orchestras; the National and Phoenix symphonies; and the Arlington, Alexandria and Fairfax symphonies in Virginia. She also performed, by special invitation, on the Young Artists Series on the New York City radio station, WQXR.
She has held the position of assistant concertmaster of the Phoenix Symphony and concertmaster with both the Festival Orchestra of the Music Academy of the West in Santa Barbara and the Opus Chamber Orchestra in Los Angeles.
Now residing in Los Angeles with her husband and two children, Julie has been a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra since 1986, and is a founding member of both the Capitol Ensemble and the Angeli Duo. She is active in the motion picture and recording industries and has performed on hundreds of movie scores, records and CDs. Gigante is also an active chamber musician. She won first prize with a piano trio at the Coleman Chamber Music Competition in Pasadena, California.
Julie was born into a musical family and began her training at the age of five. She graduated from the Eastman School of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree, also earning the prestigious Performer’s Certificate. She enjoys reading and making jewelry.
