Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra: making great music personal

Jennifer Munday

violin

Jennifer Munday has been a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra’s first violin section since 1980.

She attended USC, where she studied with Eudice Shapiro. Jennifer has performed chamber music and soloed with LACO, as well as at the Casals, Oregon Bach and San Luis Obispo Mozart festivals. In July 2010, she was invited to participate in Mendelssohn’s Octet in E-flat major for the gala concert of the Oregon Bach Festival. The performance was deemed “impeccable” by Oregon Music News. She has also worked regularly with Bach specialist Helmuth Rilling.

An active teacher and performer, Jennifer is married to Kenneth Munday, LACO’s principal bassoon. Jennifer cites Sandy Koufax and Audrey Hepburn as her personal heroes. She loves dancing, cats and spending time with her wonderful women-friends and family.
