Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra: making great music personal

Jennifer Munday has been a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra’s first violin section since 1980.

She attended the University of Southern California, where she studied with Eudice Shapiro. Jennifer has performed chamber music and soloed with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, as well as at the Casals, Oregon Bach and San Luis Obispo Mozart festivals.

Jennifer has also worked regularly with Bach specialist Helmuth Rilling. She has toured and recorded with Rilling and the Gächinger Kantorei Stuttgart, the distinguished vocal ensemble that he formed in 1953 in the small village of Gächingen in Germany’s Swabian mountains.

Jennifer is married to Kenneth Munday, the principal bassoon of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. Her son, Nick, is a baseball player at Biola University, and her daughter, Marika, has blogged for LACO and loves to dance.
