Praised for his “bravura technique, and unflagging energy” (The Times, London), Philippe Quint grips audiences around the world with his remarkable lyricism, poetry and impeccable virtuosity.
In addition to performing with orchestras at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig to Carnegie Hall in New York, this multi-faceted artist also explores tango with his band The Quint Quintet. His live performances received national broadcasts and his recordings have garnered 2002 and 2009 Grammy nominations, as well as multiple “Editor’s Choice” selections in Gramophone. Recently, he released two albums with Avanti Classics, Philippe Quint Plays Bruch, Mendelssohn & Beethoven and Opera Breve with Lili Maisky.
He studied with Andrei Korsakov at Moscow’s Special Music School for the Gifted and earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Julliard. Philippe Quint plays the 1708 “Ruby” Antonio Stradivari violin on loan to him through the generous efforts of The Stradivari Society®.
