Soprano Alison King is a recent graduate of the Yale Opera Studio. King recently made her role debut as Micaela in Carmen at the Music Academy of the West. In January 2015, King is a featured soloist in the Marilyn Horne Song Celebration at Carnegie Hall alongside her mentor, Marilyn Horne. Recently, she performed in a master class with Kurt Moll at Carnegie Hall as part of the Song Continues series and debuted with Carnegie Hall’s Neighborhood Recital series in collaboration with Carrie-Ann Matheson as part of the Marilyn Horne Legacy. She was also a soloist in Dvořák’s Stabat Mater under the baton of internationally known conductor Helmuth Rilling. Recent roles include Anne Trulove in The Rake’s Progress at the Music Academy of the West, Giulietta in I Capuleti e I Montecchi and Brigitta in Iolanta with Yale Opera. King has been a semi-finalist in the Eleanor McCollum Competition with Houston Grand Opera.
