As LACO’s 2008-09 season comes to a close and we gear up for our exciting 2009-10 season, you can listen to LACO’s virtuosic performances in the off-season summer months from the comfort of your home or car!
This summer, Performance Today releases several LACO performances for broadcast on 245 public radio stations across the country.
On Friday, June 5th, Performance Today broadcasts Emanuele Buono’s winning performance from the Parkening International Guitar Competition on May 30th, 2009 at Smothers Theater. The show airs the third movement from his performance of Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s Concerto No. 1 in D Major with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.
On May 29, Performance Today aired the “Spring” and “Summer” concertos from Piazzolla’s The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires with Lindsay Deutsch (recorded for broadcast at LACO’s May 2007 concert). Listen to this broadcast now on performancetoday.org.
On June 2nd, Performance Today broadcast Osvaldo Golijov’s Azul, featuring Yo-Yo Ma (recorded for broadcast at LACO’s January 2009 concert). The broadcast is still available on performancetoday.org, so you can listen now.
