meet vivian

Every summer, several fantastic interns join the LACO staff to learn the ins and outs of orchestra administration. Meet Vivian Shen, this summer’s marketing intern.

Hello everyone! My name is Vivian Shen and I was born and raised in San Diego. I am a junior at the University of Southern California and currently majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Music Industry. The college experience has been amazing so far, and I have been involved in various organizations on campus. My involvement goes from being a member of the Fashion Industry Association, to working at GroundZero Performance Café on campus, to sorority life. I am Vice President of Academic Excellence in my sorority Kappa Kappa Gamma and have enjoyed all that Greek life has offered.

In addition to these extracurricular activities, I have had several internships. This past year I was an intern for the Music Department at the prestigious Rogers & Cowan PR agency, which gave me an experience of a lifetime: working at the 2009 Grammy Awards.

I enjoy having a busy schedule and participating in everything that I can. I hope that by the end of college I will know what career path is right for me and that I will be able to find a job that I truly am passionate for.

Music has always been in my life and I would not be able to live without it. I have played many instruments from piano to violin to the harp and wish that I had time to continue playing through college. In my spare time I love playing tennis, going to the beach and skiing and snowboarding in the winter. Interning at the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra is the perfect fit for me because it combines music and business, a combination that would be a dream job for me!
