Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra: making great music personal

family concert 2: springtastic strings

  • Vivaldi Bassoon Concerto in C major, RV 477
  • Vivaldi Concerto in B-flat major for Violin and Cello, RV 547
  • Vivaldi Violin Concerto in E major, “Spring” (from The Four Seasons)

Spiders build delicate webs with their silky strings, while composers create beautiful music with the string instruments of the orchestra. Principals Kenneth Munday and Andrew Shulman join LACO’s virtuoso strings for excerpts from two Vivaldi concertos, and budding 14-year-old violinist Mayumi Kanagawa performs the “Spring” concerto from the Italian master’s popular The Four Seasons.
