A joyful concert gala of superb artistry led by Sir Neville Marriner, the Orchestra’s legendary first music director and the world’s most prolific classical recording artist, opened LACO’s 40th season. Jeffrey Kahane marked this historic occasion as soloist in the Beethoven, playing under Sir Neville’s direction for the very first time. Filled with dazzling displays of orchestral virtuosity, the program celebrated the very essence of our Chamber Orchestra—40 soloists who delight in performing the classical repertoire together.
