ragtime xylophonia

On Sunday, March 27, LACO went Green at ragtime xylophonia. Alan Chapman hosted the concert featuring LACO principal timpani Wade Culbreath and an entire program of percussive fun with works by composer and xylophonist George Hamilton Green and his brother Joe. Wade provided interesting background information on xylophones and Green in the minds of musicians blog.

An hour before the concert, kids tried different instruments at the Instrument Petting Zoo, went green with Kidspace Children’s Museum reusing old magazines to create new art and creating sun prints, participated in a drum circle with Remo Recreational Music Center and learned how to ragtime dance with Louise Reichlin and Los Angeles Choreographers & Dancers.
