October 17, 2012

opening: ravel & beethoven

Thanks to our wonderful and responsive audience, LACO successfully launched its 2012-13 series on October 6 & 7, featuring works by Ravel, Beethoven, James Matheson and composer-in-residence Andrew Norman.

All ticket holders were invited to celebrate the launch of the 2012-13 Orchestral Series with free drinks, sponsored by Leblon.

Read the program notes and a how composers “listen” to visual art blog by Christine Gengaro, PhD.

David Garcia, the untrained ear blogger, wonders how he survived without LACO all summer.

We met newbie blogger, Jorge Del Pinal.

KUSC’s Brian Lauritzen discusses the Orchestral Series season highlights with music director Jeffrey Kahane.

Los Angeles Times music critic, Mark Swed, reviews the concert.
