Feel the seductive heat of Buenos Aires. Initially Astor Piazzolla received death threats from Argentine “nationalists” and purists for his radical treatment of the tango. Now, welcomed in the great concert halls of the world, his music is a source of pride for his countrymen. With his Nuevo Tango, Piazzolla pays homage to Vivaldi and breathes new life into the traditional classical form. Experience the seasons with rising star Lindsay Deutsch, a standout post-graduate student at The Colburn School. The concert opens with a world premiere by another young talent, Gernot Wolfgang, and comes to a joyful close with the magnificent Haydn Symphony No. 98.
