Music meets poetry in the inaugural season of our new series exploring the connections between music and other artistic expressions. Concertmaster Margaret Batjer, who curates the series, assembles giants from the poetry world to complement the 90-minute LACO performance. At this concert, award-winning poet Dana Gioia, former chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts, reads excerpts from his work and invites discussion with the audience to illuminate the intricate connections between the two art forms.
“...our Westside friends deserve an equally rich opportunity to explore with us the glorious repertoire of chamber music.” – Music Director Jeffrey Kahane
