The afternoon recital begins with Antonio Lysy, accompanied by pianist Antoinette Perry, performing Beethoven’s E-flat Variations on Mozart’s Bei Männern and award-winning composer Osvaldo Golijov’s Omararmor. Evan Drachman continues the afternoon, also accompanied by Perry, with Haydn’s Divertimento, as arranged by Piatigorsky, and Piatigorsky’s Prayer. Nathaniel Rosen, with narrator John Rubinstein, showcases American composer Grant Beglarian’s whimsical work, Of Fables, Foibles and Fancies, with LACO’s Andrew Shulman and Jeffrey Kahane bringing the recital to a close with Beethoven’s Cello Sonota No. 4 in C major.
