- Ligeti Piano Concerto
- Mozart Concerto No. 10 in E-flat major for Two Pianos, K. 365 listen
Life is busy. Kids, errands, clients, traffic…so much to do. And often all at once.
For one evening, leave the multitasking to LACO music director Jeffrey Kahane as he conducts two double concertos from the keyboard and a third from the podium. Kahane is joined by 12-year-old Ray Ushikubo for Bach and LA favorite Joanne Pearce Martin for Mozart. Jeremy Denk, music director of the 2014 Ojai Festival, is the soloist for the fiendishly finger-twisting Ligeti concerto. Join us for feats of multi-musicality to eclipse the memory of your morning routine.
“[Jeremy] Denk . . . is a pianist you want to hear no matter what he performs, in whatever combinationm both for his penetrating intellectual engagement with the music and the generosity of his playing.” (The New York Times)
