Co-presented by the Valley Cultural Center, this concert invites listeners to explore the roots of orchestral music as we know it today. The artists will personally introduce the music from the stage, perform about 90 minutes of music by masters such as Corelli, Vivaldi, Handel and Bach, and invite your questions in a relaxed conversation to close the afternoon. The intimacy of the Madrid Theatre is perfectly suited to LACO’s concert style – a closeness between audience and performers that mirrors the experience of 18th-century music lovers who enjoyed these Baroque masterpieces when they were performed for the very first time. Curtain is at 2 pm; there will be no intermission.
