Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra: making great music personal

  • Bizet/Borne/David Shostac Carmen Fantasy (LACO commission – world premiere)
  • Lalo Schifrin Tangos Concertantes (LACO co-commission – US premiere)
  • Haydn Symphony No. 92 in G major, “Oxford”

Shout olé! Cho-Liang Lin shines in the Argentine-influenced work based on the tango of the composer’s homeland. Schifrin, whose career spans the concert hall, film and television, received a Grammy for his Mission: Impossible TV score and Academy Award® nominations for movie soundtracks such as Cool Hand Luke and The Competition. LACO principal flute since 1975, David Shostac shows off his “dazzling skills” (Reviewplays.com) as composer and soloist.

“Lin is a great violinist – one of the greatest today.” American Record Guide
