Glory in Mozart’s towering Piano Concerto No. 22 as Jeffrey Kahane, one of the supreme Mozart interpreters of our time, conducts from the keyboard. The concerto’s daringly original instrumentation reveals Mozart at the height of his powers, when wealth, success and popularity were all still within his reach. Margaret Batjer leads Handel’s Concerto Grosso to ignite the evening, and Kahane takes the reins for Pulitzer Prize finalist Andrew Norman’s highly-anticipated world premiere and the fiery rhythms of Ginastera’s virtuosic showpiece.
