Think of a teacher that inspired you to greatness. Or a student you mentored to success. Do you wonder what happened to them?
For violinists Jaime Laredo and Jennifer Koh the answer is clear. Teacher and revered soloist Laredo joins Koh, his student-turned-star, to perform Bach’s Concerto for Two Violins in D minor under the direction of dynamic young guest conductor James Feddeck in his Los Angeles debut. The teacher and former student also share the spotlight for the West Coast premiere of Anna Clyne’s Prince of Clouds, a Baroque-style concerto inspired by Laredo and Koh’s artistic family tree. “This transfer of knowledge and inspiration between generations is a beautiful gift.” (Anna Clyne)
“A conductor to watch,” James Feddeck brings “sparkling clarity and palpable congeniality.” (Clevland Plain Dealer)
Iconic violinist Jaime Laredo creates music that “comes only from understanding, love, painstaking care, and quite simply, great ability.” (The Guardian)
“An exciting American violinist,” Jennifer Koh plays “with consummate skill and passion.” (The New York Times)
