If you admire teamwork, finesse and versatility, join us for a magnificent display at the keyboard in this once-in-a-lifetime event. Joanne Pearce Martin joins Jeffrey Kahane for the concerto for two pianos that Mozart performed with his sister. Mozart wrote a third piano part for his concerto No. 7 for a young performer. Appropriately, John Chen, an outstanding student of the Colburn School, has been selected to make his LACO debut alongside our seasoned professionals. Kahane opens the program with the 1782 concerto Mozart described as “very brilliant, pleasing to the ear, and natural,” and the concert culminates in the darkened mood of concerto No. 24.
“...the fine American pianist Jeffrey Kahane…brought sparkle and imagination…[his] playing abounds with spontaneity.
