- Mozart Symphony No. 31 in D major, “Paris”
- Ravel Piano Concerto in G major
- Schoenberg Chamber Symphony No. 1 in E major
- Beethoven Symphony No. 1 in C major listen
Be there for the LACO debut of David Fung, the first pianist to graduate from the Colburn Conservatory. Tradition and innovation come together in Ravel’s jazz-inflected concerto and Schoenberg’s Chamber Symphony as the exceptionally gifted Joana Carneiro leads a concert on our Orchestral Series for the first time. Both Carneiro, who served as LACO’s assistant conductor in 2003–04, and Fung underscore the Orchestra’s reputation for championing young artists on the brink of major careers first.
“prodigiously talented…[David Fung] originally
studied medicine; he also plays violin and viola to
concert standard—yet he is still in his early twenties.
He probably does ten more impossible things daily
before breakfast.” The Edinburgh Guide
part of the
Program and artists subject to change.
