Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra: making great music personal

orchestral series

making great music personal

Music director Jeffrey Kahane and the 40 virtuosos of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra join some of the best new talent our country has to offer in an exciting season filled with time-honored classics infused with a fresh American perspective.

In addition to Orchestral Series concerts at Glendale’s Alex Theatre and Royce Hall, the season features a special one-night-only event on November 7 at Ambassador Auditorium – Discover Beethoven 5, an in-depth exploration of Beethoven’s musical masterpiece with Jeffrey Kahane as your musical tour guide.

Additional highlights include guest appearances by Laura Claycomb, Chris Thile, Daniel Hope and Jeremy Denk; premieres by Derek Bermel, Chris Thile and George Tsontakis; and more!

LACO is the critics’ choice

“This was a terrific, life-affirming concert that started with gusto and just kept getting better and better. And everyone at Royce knew it…Buy your tickets now for the rest of the series (they won’t be easy to come by)…”
Los Angeles Times

“It was a bold, spotless, enthusiastic performance. Kahane has lifted the spirits of the orchestra and it has become a delight to hear. The last movement was a gripping race, full of imagination, humor and taken-for-granted virtuosity.”
Los Angeles Times

“Our Chamber Orchestra is now, more than ever, a precious part of the musical life of this entire region.”
L.A. Weekly

“In Germany, one rarely encounters an orchestra whose members take the stage smiling happily, almost radiantly. Not only did the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra do just that…it worked itself up into even higher spirits with every measure…”
Die Welt, Hamburg, Germany

“It can always be relied upon for precise, technically impeccable, artistically sensitive playing, and for lucid, transparent sound.”
San Diego Reader

The Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra is “…America’s finest chamber orchestra.”
