Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra: making great music personal

westside connections

Curated by concertmaster Margaret Batjer, this innovative LACO chamber music series on the Westside invites you to take a look at the connections between music and other artistic disciplines.

In the 2010 season, we look at how music inspires creativity. For each concert, a representative from another field selects a chamber work that has been a source of personal inspiration and shares insights into the creative process with the audience. Margaret Batjer builds a program around the selected piece.

Following LACO’s signature “conversations” style, the artists introduce the pieces from the stage and the 90-minute concerts include an opportunity for relaxed conversation between the musicians and the audience. There is no intermission.

The 3-concert series takes place at the state-of-the-art Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center.
