Jeffrey Leblow

production & education intern

Originally from Orange County, California, Jeff Leblow is a 2013 graduate of Occidental College, where he studied music with an emphasis in composition. Jeff started in music by learning to play the violin in middle school and the trombone in high school. During his time at Occidental, he was the first chair trombone player in Oxy’s Jazz Ensemble for all four years, and has alternated between first and second chair in the Caltech-Occidental Concert Band for three years. Currently, Jeff plays with the Slide Rule Trombone Choir and continues to play with the Concert Band as an Oxy alumnus. Also, he conducted both the Caltech-Oxy Concert Band and the Occidental College Glee Club during his college years, conducting the works of Strauss, Praetorius and Whitacre in concert and as part of the Glee Club’s 2013 Southwest Tour.

Jeff has studied composition under the direction of Andre Myers and Jennifer Logan, and spends much of his free time composing. In the future, Jeff hopes to pursue a MM and a DMA in composition. Apart from music, Jeff enjoys outdoor activities such as scuba diving and camping, and is an amateur aquarist.
