production & education intern
Kijoon (Kij) Baeg currently studies music industry at the University of Southern California.
His passion for the administration side of music began when he co-founded Hope of Music, a wholly student-run organization that focuses on putting together natural disaster relief benefit concerts for the community. He experimented with pre-college student artist management, implementing audio-visual production techniques in a classical music concert setting, and putting together a coherent arts administration team from a group of teenage high school students going through identity crises and acne-induced insecurity.
Kij started out in the popular music industry working at Artisans Music, dealing with artist publishing contracts and promoter agreements. His career in the classical music industry began at Kirshbaum Associates, where he worked in the artist management side of the industry. He is currently working in arts administration as the production & education intern for Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra.
At school, Kij serves as president for Concerto Chamber Orchestra, a student-run orchestra that serves primarily as a platform for non-music major USC students who are passionate about performance and the orchestra scene.
Aside from music, Kij appreciates a strong cup of morning dark roast black coffee, close friends who don’t mind going to beach at 2 am for wine and smoked gouda, and a bowl of MSG-free instant ramen to wrap up a day of productivity (or lack thereof).
