2021/22 SEASON: EASTSIDE ORCHESTRAL SERIES
MONTGOMERY, MOZART + R. STRAUSS
JANUARY 29
2021/22 SEASON: EASTSIDE ORCHESTRAL SERIES
MONTGOMERY, MOZART + R. STRAUSS
Dynamic composer and educator Jessie Montgomery writes musical techniques that utilizes layers of strumming and lightly plucking strings in her piece, Strum for string orchestra. Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante in E-Flat major then introduces LACO’s principal winds as soloists creating a union between the oboe, bassoon, clarinet, and horn. The program culminates with R. Strauss’ high spirited orchestral suite Le Bourgeois gentilhomme.
The appearance of Kenneth Munday in Montgomery, Mozart + Strauss is made possible, in part, with support from Anne-Marie + Alex Spataru.
[Effective the performance on January 29, LACO’s vaccine requirement for all eligible audience members includes a COVID-19 booster obtained no later than January 29, 2022.
Eligibility for the COVID-19 booster is as follows: for all Moderna recipients and Pfizer recipients ages 12+, boosters are eligible five months after their second vaccine dose. Johnson & Johnson vaccine recipients are eligible for a booster dose two months after their initial vaccine.]

LACO’S 2021/22 SEASON
November 13, 2021 – May 15, 2022
Music Director Jaime Martín will leap to the podium in November as he unites the Orchestra to welcome us all back to the concert hall. This year, Jaime expands on what makes LACO truly remarkable: an orchestra of soloists.
LACO will perform as usual on both the east and west sides, sticking to the regulars like Royce Hall, Alex Theatre, Zipper Hall and Rothenberg Hall. Some will already be familiar with our newer additions like Ambassador Auditorium and The Broad Stage. However, please note that we will not be following our usual Eastside + Westside double night concerts schedule this season. Most chamber and orchestral concerts have distinct programming and will be performed on only one night unless otherwise noted.
