read more →Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO) Executive Director Scott Harrison is one of an international cohort of 50 CEOs selected to participate in National Arts Strategies’ Chief Executive Program. Over the next year, he will travel to Harvard Business School and University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business to work with fellow participants united by deep community roots.
Program Director Sunny Widmann says, “We were overwhelmed by both the quality and quantity of applications to the Chief Executive Program. Together with our partners at Harvard Business School and University of Michigan, Ross School of Business, we’re thrilled to share knowledge with and learn from this incredible group of change agents in the cultural sector.”
“It is an honor to be selected for the National Arts Society’s Chief Executive Program and represent our institution, particularly because LACO was the only orchestra chosen to participate,” says Harrison. “It is an affirmation of our deepening commitment to working with the community and to forging new and diverse partnerships throughout Los Angeles.”
Support for the program comes from The Kresge Foundation, The Educational Foundation of America and The Chief Executive Fellowship Fund Honoring Ken Fischer. The partnerships of Harvard Business School and the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business make this work possible. Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO), proclaimed “America’s finest chamber orchestra” by Public Radio International, has established itself among the world’s top musical ensembles. Since 1997, LACO has performed under the baton of acclaimed conductor and pianist Jeffrey Kahane, hailed by critics as “visionary” and a conductor with “effortless musicality and extraordinary communicative gifts.” Under Kahane’s leadership, the Orchestra maintains its status as a preeminent interpreter of historical masterworks and a champion of contemporary composers.
