Hans Graf, conductor
Alessio Bax, piano
DUTILLEUX Mystère de l’instant
MOZART Piano Concerto No. 24 in C minor
BEETHOVEN Symphony No. 6 in F major, “Pastoral”
We all seek ways to relax and get back in touch with nature. And Beethoven was no different.
Beethoven was known to take long walks in the woods to revitalize his spirit and get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. His playful “Pastoral” Symphony evokes the very human need to commune with nature. In his LACO debut, distinguished international conductor Hans Graf leads you on this invigorating trek, while Italian prodigy Alessio Bax, in his first Los Angeles engagement, infuses the Mozart Piano Concerto with passion. This fall, let Beethoven and Mozart get your blood pumping to the rhythms of nature.
Conductor Hans Graf possesses a “subtle, studied style on the podium.” (The Houston Chronicle)
A “rising star in classical music” (The New York Times) Alessio Bax plays “with an almost hypnotic intensity.” (Gramophone)

Concert Preludes are fun, informative and free to all ticket holders.
Join us one hour before each concert in the theatre. Some Preludes will feature LIVE performances of short chamber works. All will provide interesting insights into the music and the artists.
