Dear LACO Family,
Due to the escalating impact of COVID-19, we have made the difficult decision to cancel LACO concerts and events through the end of March, including the Ravel, Strauss, + Contreras concerts at Royce Hall and the Alex Theatre. We had been looking forward to sharing these concerts with all of you and are heartbroken by these cancellations, but the safety of our musicians, audience, and staff will always take precedence. Although it has not yet been scheduled, we intend to premiere Juan Pablo Contreras’ work as part of a future LACO concert.
We are all grappling with the global health crisis unfolding before us in real time, yet even amidst the uncertainty and darkness, it is in music, art, and beauty where we can always find light. The coronavirus pandemic may prevent us from gathering together to share music in person, but current circumstances will not prevent LACO from providing you with exquisite, enduring, personal musical experiences. We are happy to announce that in the weeks to come you will have the opportunity to experience the artistry of LACO Music Director Jaime Martín and our outstanding musicians through digital concert experiences. Please stay tuned!
Lastly, LACO is among dozens of performing arts organizations across Los Angeles impacted by coronavirus-related cancellations. The financial consequences of these necessary cancellations on organizations, artists, and individuals are very real. It is our fervent hope that you will consider transferring your ticket into a tax-deductible donation, both for us here at LACO and for our fellow arts organizations across Los Angeles. That being said, if you are interested in a credit or other options you may contact the Patron Journey team at the LACO office at (213) 622-7001, EXT. 1 or by emailing tickets@laco.org. We thank you for your patience as we navigate this unprecedented circumstance.
Thank you for your support and understanding. Remember to wash your hands regularly, and please stay safe!
Ben
