(Tuesday, July 15, 2025, Los Angeles) – This Labor Day, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO), in partnership with the National MS Society, invites the public to Music + The Body, a free community event of music, wellness, and awareness at The Broad Stage. The pre-concert festivities begin at 11 AM; a special MS awareness panel begins at 12:30 PM; and the concert begins at 2 PM.
This free community event, inspired by LACO collaborator and composer Jeff Beal’s experience living with multiple sclerosis, begins with a wide array of pre-concert activities—including an instrument petting zoo, music composition, and interactive opportunities exploring the healing connections between music, dance, and well-being. The program also includes a special MS awareness panel led by Christina J. Azevedo, M.D., Associate Professor of Neurology; Director, Advanced Imaging in MS Lab; MS Fellowship Program Director, Keck School of Medicine of USC, and Dr. Assal Habibi Associate Research Professor of Psychology and Director of the Center for Music, Brain and Society at USC.
