Bassoonist and contra bassoonist Mike Gamburg has been a member of the Seattle Symphony since 2002. Before Seattle, Gamburg was a member of the Colorado Symphony, and the Grant Park Symphony in Chicago. Additionally, he has performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, Houston Symphony, San Diego Symphony, San Francisco Opera, Orchestre de Paris, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Grand Teton Festival Orchestra, Bochum Symphony in Germany and the Memphis Symphony Orchestra.

Gamburg earned a Bachelor of Music Performance from DePaul University, where he studied with Chicago Symphony bassoonist Bruce Grainger. He enjoys helping young players with audition preparation and coaches the bassoon section of the San Francisco Youth Orchestra.
