PJ Ochlan of KJAZZ 88.1 The Arts Report took a call from our Silent Film co-chairman Roger L. Mayer to talk about Roger’s love of Buster Keaton, his passion for film preservation and the experience of hearing a new score performed live by a full Orchestra.

LACO’s Silent Film will be held Sunday, May 23 at Royce Hall, and will feature a world premiere score by composer Timothy Brock to Buster Keaton’s classic The Cameraman. Disney’s 1924 film Alice’s Wild West Show is also on the bill, with a score by Alexander Rannie. Tickets are still available online or by calling the LACO box office at 213 622 7001 × 215.

LA Orchestra Fellowship

The LA Orchestra Fellowship is a two-year orchestra intensive for musicians on violin, viola, and cello.

Fellows are mentored in chamber and orchestral performance and gain invaluable experience while training and playing alongside Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra musicians, faculty at USC Thornton and mentor members of the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles.
