BACH Cantata No. 51, “Jauchzet Gott in allen Landen” (“Exult in God in Every Land”), BWV 51
MOZART “Alleluja” from Exsultate, jubilate, K. 165
TIGRAN MANSURIAN Violin Concerto No. 2, “Four Serious Songs”
BEETHOVEN Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92
The joyous exuberance of Bach, Mozart and Beethoven envelop the hauntingly plaintive Violin Concerto No. 2 of Armenia’s foremost living composer. Virtuoso Movses Pogossian, Professor of Violin at UCLA, performs his countryman’s concerto with “utter technical assurance and plenty of feeling.” Joélle Harvey brings “silvery top notes” while LACO principal trumpet David Washburn delights with “luminous sound”.

Concert Preludes are fun, informative and free to all ticket holders.
Join us one hour before each concert in the theatre. Some Preludes feature LIVE performances of short chamber works. All provide interesting insights into the music and the artists.
