One of the most rewarding and at times most entertaining aspects of LACO’s education program Meet the Music are the letters and thank you notes from the teachers and students who attend. I thought it would be nice to take this opportunity to share a few of the comments from the letters we recently received.
These students are from Trinity Street Elementary’s Fourth Grade English Language Learners class who attended our Meet the Music concert on November 5 with Carl St.Clair, who led the Orchestra in a performance of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7.
“My favorite Beethoven’s symphony is the 7th symphony. The first time that I heard it I liked it so much because so times I felt calm or sometimes I felt excited”
“When we went to the concert I heard this delightful symphony. Then we hear lofty, amazing, and impressive symphony.”
“Beethoven is the greatest musician and the greatest composer ever. He was amazing!”
“In the beginning of Beethoven’s 7th Symphony it was fortissimo, that means loud. Also, it was amazing.”
“Whenever I hear Beethoven’s music I visualize that Beethoven was conducting and the orchestra is playing amazingly.”
“I wish he [Beethoven] was here today. I want him to play for us his first, second, or third symphony.”
“When it [Symphony No. 7] starts it feels calm and relaxing. I imagine that I go to my house and start dancing and my sister comes from her school and dances with me. Then we fall asleep.”
“The second movement is like some ice cream. Beethoven’s music is delicious like ice cream.”
Which one is your favorite quote? Do you have a quote of your own that describes your feeling about Beethoven and his symphonies? Share it with us here.
