About THE CLASSROOM COMPOSERS PROJECT
The “Classroom Composers Project” is an initiative geared to connect students with composers. This project involves an additional online classroom visit from one of our Composer Teaching Artist Fellows who will engage with your students in an immersive and creative process that will culminate in a creation of a mini-composition, to be featured at the virtual MTM concert. Participation in this part of the program is optional.
ABOUT MEET THE MUSIC
Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra is excited to announce a new era for Meet the Music in collaboration with our Artistic Advisor and composer, Derrick Spiva Jr.
Presented free-of-charge to students everywhere, Meet the Music fosters listening skills, encourages collaborative involvement and sparks creative innovation through a digital curriculum and Zoom classroom visits from LACO’s Composer Teaching Artist Fellows. This enriching music program culminates in an interactive, discussion-based virtual concert featuring our own musicians and artists.
Through this redesigned educational outlook, we aim to further specialize MTM in order to better meet the ever-evolving needs of our students in times of COVID-19 and beyond. We are excited to have you and your students join us for this reinvigorated season of artistic education!
