The stage is elegantly set for LACO’s 2025/26 season to unfurl like a finely penned missive, brimming with anticipation and artistry. Guided by the masterful Jaime Martín, cellist Nicolas Altstaedt makes his Los Angeles debut with the Schumann’s lyrical Cello Concerto, continuing the multi-year exploration of Brahms + Schumann. Haydn’s Symphony No. 83, “The Hen,” sparkles with delightful wit, and Beethoven’s monumental Symphony No. 5 delivers the fateful opening notes that reshaped music history.
A MUSICAL GENESIS: MARTÍN + ALTSTAEDT + SCHUMANN is made possible, in part, with the generous support from James Mulally and Cheryl K. Petersen + Roger H. Lustberg. Additional support is provided by Peggy + Jack Falcon.
