Nadine Arita has been a fan of LACO since Gerard Schwarz’s tenure as music director. She enjoyed every performance of Jeffrey Kahane’s unforgettable Musaic marathon — from the front row — and was delighted to attend LACO’s 40th anniversary Grammy salute to Sir Neville Marriner.
Nadine functioned as the entire Contracts Department for the LA Opera, where she interacted with artists and their agents on a daily basis. She holds a BA and MFA from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television, and has written for Touchstone Pictures and Fox TV. In addition, she founded a committee for underrepresented writers at the Writers Guild of America and has served as a grants panel judge for the City of Los Angeles’ Department of Cultural Affairs.
After years of watching her older siblings practice the piano, Nadine received the gift of piano lessons on her 8th birthday. At last, she understood the meaning of those mysterious black and white keys! The world of music opened up to her and it remains her best birthday present ever.
