Tamara Hatwan

Violin 1

Tamara Hatwan, originally from Chicago, received a Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern University in 1987 and a Master of Music degree from USC in 1989. She has been a member of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra since 1989 and a member of the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra since its inception in 1991. She was assistant concertmaster of the Long Beach Symphony from 1989-2000 and has previously been a member of the Pacific Symphony and the LA Opera orchestra.

She has performed on concert stages in North and South America, Europe and Asia, as well as a variety of Hollywood venues including The Tonight Show and the GRAMMY® and Academy® awards. She has recorded soundtracks of over 900 major motion pictures. She met her husband Mark, production director of KUSC Radio, at a LACO rehearsal! They reside in Studio City with their sons Jackson and Cooper.

LA Orchestra Fellowship

The LA Orchestra Fellowship is a two-year orchestra intensive for musicians on violin, viola, and cello.

Fellows are mentored in chamber and orchestral performance and gain invaluable experience while training and playing alongside Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra musicians, faculty at USC Thornton and mentor members of the Inner City Youth Orchestra of Los Angeles.
