JEFFREY KAHANE CONDUCTOR + PIANO

CHRISTOPHER ROUNTREE CONDUCTOR*
*Rountree conducting Heirloom only

It’s all in the family as Conductor Laureate and celebrated pianist Jeffrey Kahane performs Heirloom, a LACO commission by his son, composer Gabriel Kahane and conducted by Christopher Rountree. The program is rounded out with a flight of selections from Jean-Philippe Rameau’s operas Zaïs, Les Boréades, and Dardanus, as well as Haydn’s Symphony No. 104 in D major, “London,” his final symphonic work.

Kahane Plays Kahane is made possible from a generous contribution from Terri + Jerry Kohl.
Armen Ksajikian’s performance in Kahane Plays Kahane was made possible, in part, by a gift from Laura Segal  Stegman and Hugh Stegman in loving memory of Maurice and Claire  Segal.
Jeffrey Kahane’s appearance in Kahane Plays Kahane was made possible, in part, by a gift from Peekie Schaefer.

Questions about tickets or subscriptions for this season? Our box office can be reached Monday through Friday, 12-5pm at 213-221-3920 or at boxoffice@laco.org.

UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL

In the latest installment of Up Close and Personal, Conductor Laureate Jeffrey Kahane and Conductor Christopher Rountree discuss Heirloom, a moving musical biography about the Kahane family written by Jeffrey’s son, Gabriel Kahane. This LACO co-commission “feels somehow rooted completely in the history of classical music and also of this moment.” Also in the video, explore Haydn’s playful Symphony No. 104 “London” and orchestral selections from the operas of Jean-Philippe Rameau.
